Special Award – For outstanding contribution to the Bulgarian wine industry

For the first time in the history of the competition, the exporter.bg website presented a Special Award – For outstanding contribution to the Bulgarian wine industry. The first recipient of this major individual award is Zheko Zhekov, owner of VINEX SLAVYANTSI – a legendary figure in winemaking, an exceptional technologist, and manager. His company accounts for over 30% of Bulgarian wine exports. On behalf of Mr. Zhekov, the prestigious award was received by Ms. Anna Anastasova. The crystal prize 'Golden Cellar' was presented to her by Anton Kostadinov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry.

The leader in Bulgarian wine exports

VINEX SLAVYANTSI is one of the largest and most prestigious Bulgarian producers of wine and spirits. The company's first winery was founded in 1931 as a private wine cooperative, nationalized in 1952, and reprivatized in 1996.

The company is the largest exporter of wine in Bulgaria – primarily to Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Belgium, Germany, England, Poland, and Slovakia. Wines from the Bulgarian company are also enjoyed in Asia, with sales being realized in Japan, Mongolia, and China.
